We aim to promote the use of cost effective and accurate CD4 T-cell testing through simplification of current flow cytometric protocols used for CD4 counting. We strongly support initiatives to cut the cost of anti-retroviral therapy in resource-poor settings.  We believe that inexpensive treatment should, however, be accompanied by inexpensive laboratory monitoring, the latter being the main aim of this consortium of scientists. 

AffordCD4 is a platform for all parties interested in ways o  f improving cost effectiveness of peripheral blood CD4 T-cell enumeration and related flow cytometric assays, whilst preserving accuracy. We primarily wish to help resource-poor countries in their fight against AIDS. This site has been initiated and directed by physicians with practical and academic experience in this area of flow cytometry.
